Happy New Year

This is such a lovely piece! The striking magenta tones of the dress add a warm glow to the piece and make sure the viewer's eye is constantly drawn back to the girl.

I think the idea for this piece though not 100% original is very sound.
For improvements it is probably best to look towards the lighting in this picture and focus on how items like her fan and her hair would catch the light of the spotlights and the lanterns. This will make them appear more realistic. There would also probably be some pink from the yukata reflected in her lower face.
